Aye mateys, it’s pirate and mermaid week! Come along on some adventures as we paint rocks, make hats and learn all about pirates and mermaids.
Week 2: Space (June 17-21)
The sky’s NOT the limit for this space week! Campers will have a blast discovering our universe. Making galaxy playdough, a solar system mobile and oreo moon phases are some activities we will be exploring this week.
Week 3: Creepy Crawlies (June 24-28)
Whether you are a budding entomologist or are squeamish at the sight of a spider, this week is guaranteed to be educational and FUN. Campers will observe a caterpillar metamorphosis into a butterfly, make nature bugs and enjoy a visit from a professional “bug guy”.
Week 4: Stars and Stripes (July 1-5) Closed July 4th
This week is everything red, white and blue! Expect lots of patriotic treats and activities including a trip to OLP for some fun in the sun with bubble blowing, games and surprises.
Week 5: Ocean Life (July 8-12)
It’s a week full of all things ocean! During this week at camp, we will have a special field trip to the Electric City Aquarium! Campers will also be making shark crafts and learning from experiments with salt water.
Week 6: Winter in July (July 15-19)
Do your campers need a break from the heat? This week campers will make their classrooms into a winter wonderland, enjoy snow cones and make their very own snow!
Week 7: Disney (July 22-26)
Get your passes here to experience the magic of Disney brought to Abington Kids! Campers will be challenged by Disney trivia, get to design and decorate their own “car” to pull up to our very own AKCLC “drive-in” movie and sing-along to the best Disney songs, and so much more.
Week 8: The Artful Camper (July 29-Aug 2)
You must “Van Gogh” to AKCLC camp this week. Campers will get to expand and explore their creative side. Painting, sculpting, drawing, bead working and tie dying are just a few of the creative outlets we will be exploring. Once again our friends at Spirited Art will be here to lead us in painting a beautiful picture.
Week 9: Camp Pawsome (August 5-9)
Baby got Cats! If you like big cats and you can not lie this week is for you! We will go on a Barktastic voyage into the world of pets. If you love 4-legged creatures don’t miss out celebrating all there is to love about our furry friends. Campers can bring in pictures of their pets for a show and tell day or draw their favorite animals. Psst… There will be a surprise appearance from some furry friends this week.
Week 10: Under the Big Top (August 12-16)
COME ONE, COME ALL to the Abington Kids Camp Carnival! You can’t complete summer without a trip to the carnival! Campers will participate in carnival classics with a twist including a cotton candy experiment, elephant toothpaste, bean bag toss, and more! This week we will have a magician visit our campers and have games of chance to play. Campers will also enjoy some classic carnival snacks!
Week 11: Wild Wild West (August 19-23)
Howdy Campers! Don’t forget your bandana’s and boots for this wild week of fun! Campers can pan for gold, create their own wanted posters, hear Native American folktales and learn to line dance at our AKCLC Hoe Down.
Week 12: Superheroes (Aug 26-29)
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Superhero week at AKCLC! Campers get to create their own superhero alias, origin story, and design their own cape. Test their superhuman feats of strength, agility, and super speed in our superhero obstacle course. Their superhero action training will come in handy when campers have to defeat their arch nemesis the camp villain.
